North Alabama DSA is committed to growing class consciousness across North Alabama by standing with our local unions, supporting working people, giving voice to those cast out of the workforce, and aiding the disenfranchised. Like all DSA Chapters, North Alabama DSA is a democratic, member-based organization that strives to act democratically in all that we do. North Alabama DSA is a place where we, as socialists, come together to deliberate key issues, challenge our preconceptions, and grow our knowledge base together for better, more informed decision making as a democratic body. We take all of those lessons into our organizing towards growing DSA into a mass organization of, by, and for the working class against the interests of the capitalist class.
This is the committee charged with maintaining this website, all member accessible information, training of members, and many other important membership administrative tasks at the chapter level.
The NADSA Labor Committee is tasked with supporting unions local to our area. Whether that is helping with organizing efforts, providing eduction, helping collect support funds, supporting on the picket line, providing food for striking workers, or taking on direct asks from our union comrades, we support labor however we can strengthen our collective worker power.
The NADSA Protest and Rally Committee is tasked with keeping our community safe during acts of non-cooperation. That includes event organizing, facilitating and supporting community trainings, and providing boots on the ground for local events. The PRC is committed to non-violent doctrine and condemns state violence against people exercising their rights.
